Flat rate data from Russia to the USA

When it comes to data applications Roaming continues to be a bugbear. Some networks look on roaming as a chance to fleece the customer and charge for roaming rights, data used, session time and even just being connected to the network. They view the travelling data customer as a passing tourist to be milked of as much money as possible. The result can be £1000 plus bills per month per SIM.

Mobius customers hate the uncertainty and high cost of roaming data.

Behind the scenes Mobius has been working with Vodafone to register our Access Point Name (APN) around the world. This process has taken over a year so far and still continues. From the 1st August 2006 though, we have reached an important milestone.

A Mobius customer using our APN on a preferred network will be able to send and receive data in 1KB increments with a flat roaming rate per MB. All our customers will pay for is the data they use. And it’s not a premium. Sending data this way can be 240 times cheaper than sending the equivalent data by SMS and a 90 times cheaper than the equivalent GSM call.

Mobius is Vodafone’s preferred distributor for M2M Data SIMS. In turn, Vodafone is the UK market leader for mobile roaming services and coverage. Vodafone currently offers roaming services in 200 countries on 455 mobile networks. International GPRS connectivity is also available across more than 100 countries.

Even if the remote unit ends up on a non-preferred network the only difference will be that instead of the billing being in 1kB increments, the granularity, as it is called becomes 10kB. The price per KB remains the same.

This means that around the world Mobius customers can use one SIM, on one tariff and one data integration with a closed Fixed IP Network offering true bidirectional data across the world. All this for less than a local landline call.

At last a data network that matches your needs and aspiration.
