Mobius wins Highways England NRTS2 project with Telent

Mobius Networks is delighted to be awarded Mobile element of the 3 - 4G Wireless provision NRTS2 project that begins in January 2021 by Telent Technology Services. Fixed line replacement in a hostile environment such as roadside furniture is one of the most exacting environments for mobile communications. A stationary, always on connection with potential heavy network loading at the most critical points for information delivery and extraction is the most challenging environment Mobius faces.

“It was an exacting specification from Telent, but we have experience of building off-net mobile networks for national infrastructure projects.  But by drawing on our knowledge and our ability to deliver 99.999% on-street availability we were able to say ‘yes’.” Said Douglas Gilmour MD of Mobius Networks.

Elaine Harris, Senior Procurement Manager at Telent, stated that “After a robust tender exercise, Telent were pleased to offer Mobius Networks the APN Service provider contract. Key aspects of their solution included a clear commercial model with easily measured service levels for availability.”

All parties have already begun to build the backhaul to support the new project to go live in 2021 bringing visibility and flexibility to England’s Highway Network.
