Mobius have been supplying Industrial SIMs to Local Authorities for over a decade. Because we understand the costs involved in swapping a SIM out, we specify extended temperature range, bigger memory with more read/write cycles than consumer SIMs.

That’s why some of our original SIMs are still out there on the street, in some cases surviving the original on street kit they were put in.

But more than the Physical spec is the Profile for Local Authorities (PfLA), meaning that the network knows:

What this means in practise is that your connection stays in profile which means it stays on longer than a consumer SIM sourced through your voice contract. The data will be transferred more quickly in real world application than on a consumer profile SIM.
