Job Title: Software Engineer

Reporting To: Head of Software Development

Purpose of the role

As a key member of the Software Development Team, you will be responsible for following the Software Development Life Cycle standards and practices (Planning, Requirements Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment and Maintenance).. Areas of focus for this role will be to support the ongoing operations of the business by investigate issues raised by the business, gathering requirements for new features, developing and maintaining our core platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across the entire application stack.
  • Architect and develop robust full-stack solutions using C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC/Web API.
  • Contribute to and enhance our Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines using Azure
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, adhering to best practices and contributing to code reviews to uphold quality standards.
  • Create and maintain quality documentation for code, APIs, and other relevant technical aspects.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience, with a strong focus on the .NET ecosystem.
  • Deep understanding of C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC/Web API, Entity Framework Core, and Dependency Injection.
  • Experience with relational databases, particularly SQL Server, including schema design and query optimisation.
  • Proficiency in unit testing frameworks (MSTest, xUnit), integration testing, and mocking libraries (NSubstitute).
  • Strong multitasking abilities with the capability to manage and prioritise workloads effectively and efficiently
  • Create and maintain quality documentation for code, APIs, and other relevant technical aspects.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborate and integrate seamlessly within a team
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic working environment
  • Comfortable working both in an office environment and remotely

Desirable Experience:

  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools (Azure DevOps)
  • PowerShell scripting
  • SOAP APIs
  • Delphi
  • Scrum/Agile development methodologies

Additional Information

The Company offers 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, Private Health Insurance, and Pension.
